Educational programme "The Unexplored World of Sofija Kymantaitė-Čiurlionienė" (Remote service)
This interactive education transforms cold facts into the face of a vibrant, inspiring personality, making Sofija shine in a new, previuosly unseen light.
The education reveals cultural themes by using historical context and introducing other contemporary figures who contributed to the famous "Čiurlionienė‘s Saturdays" activities. In this way, the teaching presents particularly culturally important period in the history of Lithuania, as well as the development of the Lithuanian nation, which laid the first steps towards Independence.
At the end of the education, students are invited to share their thoughts and feelings, and encouraged to discuss the historical facts that they have heard, including the life and work of Sofija Kymantaitė-Čiurlionienė, as well as to discover their own possible contribution to the creation of today's Lithuania.
Educational programme "The Universality of M. K. Čiurlionis' Personality"
This is an integrated programme for schoolchildren in grades from 5 to 11. It presens the universality of M. K. Čiurlionis' personality, the synthesis of his creative work, Lithuanian identity and cultural activities. During the meeting, in the renovated M. K. Čiurlionis Memorial Room, we will introduce the audience to the activities of M. K. Čiurlionis' House by means of photographs, documents and letters. We also present the genius' period of life in Vilnius (from 1907 to 1908), and hold a discussion on the key events and biographical facts in the life of the creator. We are going to explore the universality of Čiurlionis as a personality: what was Čiurlionis like? Where did he live and study? How did he become such a famous artist? What was that which motivated him to dedicate his work and activities to Lithuania?
The education will end with a talk on "How to become a personality" or a creative task: creating an illustrated postcard "For the Future". The aim of the education is to integrate and extend the knowledge of music, art, literature and history that is taught at school.
The theatrical lecture-education "The Unexplored World of Sofija Kymantaitė-Čiurlionienė" and the distance educational programme "The Universality of M. K. Čiurlionis' Personality" are curated by professional actress and director Livija Krivickaitė, who uses the subtleties of her profession to create performative narratives that stimulate the schoolchildren's initiative, creativity, and desire to take an interest in historical figures and their works.
Artistic educational programme "The World of Čiurlionis‘ Music"
The main aim of the artistic educational programme "The World of Čiurlionis' Music" is to introduce the work and personality of M. K. Čiurlionis to schoolchildren in grades from 5 to 12 in a coherent, attractive and impactful way. Čiurlionis remains to this day the most recognised Lithuanian artist in the world, a personality whose work and character have left an extremely deep imprint on the entire development of Lithuanian culture and Lithuanian national consciousness.
Rokas Zubovas, pianist and great-grandson of the glorious Lithuanian genius, invites you to a musical lecture-concert "The World of Čiurlionis' Music" at the historic home of M. K. Čiurlionis. Combining narration and playing piano works by Čiurlionis, the pianist presents the main sources of inspiration of the composer that give colour to his entire musical and artistic oeuvre. He helps the audience to understand the language and symbolism of Čiurlionis‘ musical and artistic works, and reveals the aspects of the affinity of music and art. At the end of the lecture-concert, the audience members are invited to answer questions related to the works by Čiurlionis and historical facts that they have heard and discussed, and those who give correct answers will receive Čiurlionis-related prizes.

Educational programme "Visiting Čiurlionis" | Cultural Certificate
Visiting the cosy historical home of M.K. Čiurlionis, the audience will get acquainted with the childhood of composer and artist M.K. Čiurlionis – which, like every child‘s one, was full of adventures and beautiful experiences. By reading the memories of his relatives and looking at surviving family photographs, we will get to know the artist's family and the environment that surrounded him. Inside M.K. Čiurlionis' room, which is charged with the atmosphere of 1908, the schoolchildren will get the opportunity to use drawing tools to become artists themselves and to put their thoughts and impressions into an impromptu painting. The children will be given information in the form of a narrative: we will present the exhibits and paintings, analyse them together and then invite the children to draw.
The educational programme "Visiting Čiurlionis" provides educational material covering the fields of art, music and literature. It employs authentic stories to reveal, from a psychological perspective, the artist's personality, creativity and expressive powers. A visit to the memorial cultural site will strengthen the audience's knowledge of history, broaden their cultural outlook and develop cultural awareness. Inspired by the artist's work and personality, the schoolchildren will become more open to broader and more critical thinking in the pursuit of cultural knowledge.

Educational creative programme for younger school-age children "Today the Kings Will Tell Us Fairy Tales"
The programme will introduce the childhood of the composer and painter M.K. Čiurlionis, which, like every child‘s one, was full of adventures and beautiful experiences. By reading the memories of his relatives and looking at surviving family photographs, we will get to know the artist's family and the environment around him. We will meet Kastukas's brothers and sisters, for whom he was a role model and a mentor throughout his whole life. We will travel through the legendary town of Druskininkai, where Čiurlionis spent his childhood years, to find out what was that which influenced the formation of Čiurlionis' personality, and what nurtured and fostered his artistic talents.
In the creative part of the programme, each child will be able to become the creator of his or her own contemporary fairy tale. In Čiurlionis' room, charged with the atmosphere of 1908, children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of colour and fantasy by using drawing tools.

"Etudes by M. K. Čiurlionis with pianist Rokas Zubovas"
In March to September 2021, the YouTube channel of the M. K. Čiurlionis House presented a thirty-episode musical and educational programme "Etudes by M. K. Čiurlionis with pianist Rokas Zubovas", inviting viewers to delve deeper into the dynamic and colourful world of M. K. Čiurlionis' work.
In the form of these musical encounters, the Čiurlionis House in Vilnius aims to complement and broaden the spectrum of knowledge of Čiurlionis' work by creating an attractive format for presenting information, which can be used independently or included in the relevant learning processes by distance music educators, students, and lovers of Čiurlionis' music.
The educational video lessons invite you to travel through the different stages of Čiurlionis' life, presenting his rich laboratory of musical works, the peculiarities of his creativity and the development of his style. It provides a broad overview of the Lithuanian programme that dominated Čiurlionis' work, presents the artist's uniqueness, his relationship with the surrounding world and the creator, his gradual trajectory of his departure from the Romanticist tradition, and other important aspects of Čiurlionis' creative laboratory.
In these short episodes created for the Čiurlionis House YouTube channel, pianist Rokas Zubovas shares his insights into Čiurlionis' work, the circumstances of the artist's life and the era, and plays the piano pieces by his great-grandfather.
The educational programme is adapted for independent learning.
The language of the episodes is Lithuanian, with English subtitles.
